Most cases have more than one orthodontic problem and are categorised by the most obvious or most severe aspect of the malocclusion. Successful orthodontic treatment depends on the cooperation from the patient in terms of dietary control, oral hygiene and compliance with the mechanics e.g. wearing of elastics. Certain problems are very difficult to completely correct without resorting to dental extractions or even jaw surgery! If the patient is failing to make progress or has poor oral hygiene potentially causing dental decay sometimes a compromised orthodontic result has to be accepted Orthodontic treatment of missing teethOrthodontic treatment of crowded and crooked teeth
